Last night I went out for a nice dinner, had a good evening, and then woke up and went to work. Only I get here to find out there is no work. Apparently work was cancelled for the day and nobody bothered to tell me. Now I am not too bothered about there being no work today. I am not bothered about loosing out on $25 an hour.
I am more bothered by the fact that nobody chose to tell me. Here’s how my job has panned out.

  • Took job with not so great dive company while they are in midst of changing it to make it better.
  • Enjoy job, am good at job.
  • Hurricane Ivan hits the island.
  • Manager who i knew and liked quits, Alcoholic Lesbian seems to take charge.
  • Communication starts to dwindle. Communication was bad when there were 40 employee’s, worse now there is only 6.
  • Final straw in the hat or is that camels back i forget, not being told there is no work just pisses me off, so I am quitting.
  • Don’t know where I am going to go what I am going to
do, but it think it is time to leave the island.

Well I finally did it I uploaded Gallery to my webspace and started uploading images. I have a fair few galleries back up already. I do like the software, I just want something that will work with ACDSee’s keyword and description and category tagging. I just want to ftp the images and that information is up in the gallery already and i don’t need to add it. Anyone know of software that can do that ? I am pretty sure that fotoweb and fotostation work well together for that, but they are expensive. I’ll keep an eye on it all.

I have been lazy and didn’t exactly merge the gallery with the journal, but they are linked, which took some work. I should really make them look the same, but as I may not keep this gallery software I won’t bother right now, I will wait until my decision is made. Link is at the top. (or in this title)

Went for a dive on turtle reef on Sunday, did two dives for Wide Angle and Macro photography. Here are some of the photos, and if you want to read more I will post more later about the reef conditions when i finish my article.

Reef  Ray  Scorpion Fish

So I just found out that with B2Evo my blogware I can do the teaser stuff where i can write a little bit and then have it have a link to read more .. if i had known this I would have used it so much already, time for me to start using this more everyday i think.

Anyways, I have been kinda working hard, we all turn up to work … but it has been a long dragged out week of running around doing errands for everyone else. On the bright side however we are getting closer, only a week now before we actually start thinking about the rebuild. I would like to spend some time on the websites for our new release as well .. even though I have given them a quick refreshment and designed some new ones for the siter sites. (more…)

So in recent weeks… it’s been over a month since the hurricane, you begin to notice different things in your life. Things I have noticed:

About me:

  • I like being around others
  • I crave female attention even in a state of emergency
  • I can’t not shower on a regular basis, no matter how unregular.
  • I can do more htings than i thought, including roofing.
  • I need my camera and computer.
  • I love this island.
  • I am a needed person, I have made myself valuable to others.
  • I have a great circle of friends that I have built up over the years and am glad to have them all still in contact with me

About Life:

  • Mother Nature does exist .. and she takes care of herself.
  • Things happen for a reason
  • You can’t depend on other people, but you sometimes have to.
  • Some people are strong, some people are weak and the others are a drain to society.
  • Modern society comes with good and bad things, unfortunately you can’t seem to loose the bad even in a natural disaster
  • Nothing can break down true human spirits.
  • and apperently people are like squirrels, ask Jay about that one.

flowers in bloom

Sometimes you can appreciate flowers blooming. It’s nice to notice things we take for granted in normal life. It’s nice to see these things coming back to us. It’s nice to know that gradually we become more normal and closer to normality everyday.

I like life and how it changes. Click the title for more photos taken this weekend.

I have finally sort of fixed my computer .. it’s fast again .. I had to uninstall the McAfee software, so no internet until that is reinstalled. But I got my Ivan after pics up .. I think there are more somewhere but life is so messy and hectic right now I didn’t bother to find them yet, and I will go and take some more soon.

Texaco blown away

Ok I have eliminated the problem that it may be RAm I am actually now fully on the virus approach now, The RAM was merely not seated correctly and appears to be fine after I took it out and cleaned up and put it back in.

So whats going on with my PC now .. well the CPU is running at 100% and for no apparent reason as well. The main process biting up process space is McShield.exe which is a McAffee internet virus protection thing.
I have scanned my computer and found Netsky in a couple of .eml files that McAffee Spam Killer had prevented me from accessing anyway. I am thinking that an update from McAffee has messed up my system again, so I am going to delete McAffee completely off my computer and then reinstall all the services again.
I had this problem once before with the software where by my whole pc was really badly screwed up, Windows updates have done the same thing, I amnot so sure this auto updating crap is all its cracked up to be if it messes my system up like 3 – 4 times a year.
