More Snow

Well I did have a good few last days in Cayman but being back in the UK i automatically know that this isn’t where I want to be, but then again where is. I have some nice little photos up from my new camera and cayman before i left [right here]

Having been back in the UK I have seen deep grey skies, crisp white snow falling, cold cold nights and my nose has been stuffed up since I started travelling a few days ago.

On top of that, just before the Hurricane hit Grand Cayman I had been thinking about setting up a digital photo trip to Cayman. I thought it was an excellent idea as not many photographers come to Cayman anymore as it is old school. Well Ocean Frotiers and Alex Mustard have set one up. Makes me really jealous as it is also being advertised on Wetpixel so it is likely that loads of people I would have loved to have met will be going. I’ll have to see if I can do it when it comes along.

Anyways here are some arty (attempted art) farty pics of it snowing the other night.

Back in the UK now .. it is grey skied, wet and miserable. I finally though saw what it is that makes the country miserable .. it’s the people. I even noticed in Miami airport you could spot am englishman as they weren’t smiling.

Going shopping for shoes, coat and computer now !

Well I bought my ticket today, I leave the island on the 17th and get home on the 18th, I feel so relieved. Life is getting to me quite a lot over here right now and the last thing i need to do is cause myself stress when i have a choice to not be stressed, i made that choice and it’s all gonna get better, even if it’s not normal for me.

Will have to email lots of people to let them know that I am leaving soon, it’s 2 weeks to the day basically. Now all I have to do is sort out all of my luggage. I will take a personal day tomorrow and sort all my stuff out and then see how much there is .. I am thinking 3 bags and a box. Not too bad, and hopefully only U$100 extra in excess baggage costs.

On the bright side today, as well as buying my ticket I purchased a Canon SD20 and memory card for it, which is a nice little treat for me .. Hip Hip Hooray.

The ease of use of this gallery system is geting very addictive to use, although I am still not sure i like it, it is also very effecient. I have started to upload loads of older images to it, and my travel galleries are looking nice and full now, although a few are missing. At the same time as trying to have some of my best photos on here, the travel ones are more memorabilia for me, but there are still some stunnin images even if i do say so myself.

Wally Lamb once wrote a book called i know this much to be true. I never read it, but the title is resounding right now. In my head right now is;

  • i have ideas of things i want to do.
  • i know what i will miss
  • but i am looking forward to the things i have ideas about
  • and i know the things i will miss here i can get back at anytime

There are some more piccies in my photo gallery of the Pirates Day Fireworks and the Beach, check em out. the fireworks were cool but nothing on a normal pirates week.
