Marina Building

Palm Tree

Here are a quick few photos from the long weekend in spain that I went on with Dad and Alan. Taken a while for me to get around to doing them as my card reader broke but it is all working good. I didnt take very many or many interesting ones as I was ill most the time. Most of the time there i was reminded why i didnt like spain that much, its not the lively part of Spain, its not a big city or a big holiday place it’s an inbetween of both. Fun when you are younger and all you want is the beach every so often a swimming pool and food and drink. When you get older thats all you want but i stopped going to spain when i was 16 i guess as it has nothing to offer someone between that age and about 30 or more.

Eternal Sunshine

As you do things and see things and experience things they undoubtedly effect your life to varying degrees according to how much you relate to them. I have to say that I do love watching movies and some of the more drama type movies I often can find links to my life or things that have happened to me. It is for me the key behind entertainment for me. I love comedy and action stuff but a book or movie that has some sort of dramatical relationship to my life is oftena lot more grabbing.
I just saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It is named after a quote by Alexander Pope’s poem ‘Eloisa to Abelard‘; which contains the quote “How happy is the blameless vestal’s lot! The world forgetting, by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind!” This quote would possible never have meant anything to me unless I had first seen the film, i’m not so good at understanding other people’s philosophies. Basically put though to me it means you can forget something that has forgotten you, but that will just make everything new again and life will seem bright and hopefull: Because on some level you are meant to be involved with what you forgot as is what you forgot meant to be involved with you and so you will remember. It’s like the talks of reincarnation and coming back in a next life. People suggest that there is one true love one person for each and everyone of us. I go along with this belief. So no matter how much blame and lack of sunshine life appears to have with that person it is meant to be eternally. (kinda relating the quote to the movie there). Anyway it makes you think, how much happiness do you need to get from something to want to have it in your life for ever. It is impossible that one thing can bring nothign but hapiness, there willbe some sadness with it, but how much outweighing does there need to be for you to know unequivically that you want to have and be a part of it for the rest of your life. It’s got me thinking. It’s a fantastic movie that everyone must see, it doesn’t matter if you want to understand it on a deeper level or not but it is a principal worth understanding that once we have loved we should and shall never forget that love. It’s a feeling to strong to forget or to destroy with any type of desire to or anger and hatred. (another persons opinion.)

So I don’t know how everyone else feels about the recents Tsunami, but it grabs my attention, and enhances my opinion that Mother Earth is cleaning up. There have been quite a few Natural disasters and things happenign that you wouldn’t normally expect.

  1. Hurricane Ivan
    Over Greneda
    The Biggest Ever

Hurricane Ivan; there were many hurricanes this year, more than normal, and more turnign to hurricanes, but Ivan did a huge amount of damage tomany places and proved to be the strongest hurricane in the caribbean ever; and this is why the name Ivan will never be put back into circulation. It wasn’t a pretty disaster (anyone who doesn’t know I was there)(and not forgetting Charley, Frances and any others.)

  2. Mount Saint Helens had an Ash Eruption due to I believe an Earthquake. These eruptions were mainly steam and ash, but it shows us how active it still is, and how very close to people’s homes it is too. There were also volcano’s in Hawaii (Kilauea Volcano) and Iceland (Grimsvotn Volcano) that have erupted in the last year also. There maybe more, and they all relate to earthquakes.
  3. EarthQuakes; there were probably more than I can mention. But I know of a 6.2 in Grand Cayman (thats a Hurricane and Earthquake on a 21 mile long island). Of course all the above Vocano’s had earthquakes involved. We have all heard about the Tsunami which was an underwater earthquake. The link shows over all the most significant, which basically means if you were there you didn’t need a TV to tell you you thought your building was falling down.
  4. UK Flooding; this has only affected a small area of the UK but has done a huge amount of damage to many homes and many peoples lives. People have died, peoples homes have been ruined with nasty dirty flood water, and people ar eliving without power in many areas. No power is not nice, i lived like that in a hot environment and complained about the heat, these folks have no power and probably no heating in the winter because of it. Gas isn’t such a bad thing to keep at home hey!
  5. Australian Bush Fires. I don’t know much about this disaster, butI heard on the news that itis the worst experienced in a long time and has taken people by surprise. As the article linked title mentions as well 8 people died and it’s not over. I believe that people are trapped as the fire surrounds them in a massive diameter. Some people have even been forced to jump into the sea to save themselves.
  6. Finally in the News today .. Mudslides. Which I believe is fairly common in this one area, but I did hear of others this year in other areas, but cannot remember where they were (apart from the ones relating to the Hurricanes and Monsoons.)

And that is my disatser run down for the last year and this new year.

before, needed a cut

New Crap gay cut

The Only thing worse than having a bad hair day is paying for the privelage. Now I know that I always hat emy hair when it gets cut, but I asked for one inch off .. not four inches!
How can anyone no matter how dumb and crap a hair dresser mistake one inch for how much she took off …. seriously its such a bad job. Imagine if the people in charge of making your car mistook the brake pedal size and made it one inch across instead of four inches .. you’d be pissed too ! Ok so thats not such a great analogy, but its the best I could do without the strength of my hair (Samson complex)
