So I don’t know how everyone else feels about the recents Tsunami, but it grabs my attention, and enhances my opinion that Mother Earth is cleaning up. There have been quite a few Natural disasters and things happenign that you wouldn’t normally expect.
-

Hurricane Ivan
Over Greneda
The Biggest EverHurricane Ivan; there were many hurricanes this year, more than normal, and more turnign to hurricanes, but Ivan did a huge amount of damage tomany places and proved to be the strongest hurricane in the caribbean ever; and this is why the name Ivan will never be put back into circulation. It wasn’t a pretty disaster (anyone who doesn’t know I was there)(and not forgetting Charley, Frances and any others.)
- Mount Saint Helens had an Ash Eruption due to I believe an Earthquake. These eruptions were mainly steam and ash, but it shows us how active it still is, and how very close to people’s homes it is too. There were also volcano’s in Hawaii (Kilauea Volcano) and Iceland (Grimsvotn Volcano) that have erupted in the last year also. There maybe more, and they all relate to earthquakes.
- EarthQuakes; there were probably more than I can mention. But I know of a 6.2 in Grand Cayman (thats a Hurricane and Earthquake on a 21 mile long island). Of course all the above Vocano’s had earthquakes involved. We have all heard about the Tsunami which was an underwater earthquake. The link shows over all the most significant, which basically means if you were there you didn’t need a TV to tell you you thought your building was falling down.
- UK Flooding; this has only affected a small area of the UK but has done a huge amount of damage to many homes and many peoples lives. People have died, peoples homes have been ruined with nasty dirty flood water, and people ar eliving without power in many areas. No power is not nice, i lived like that in a hot environment and complained about the heat, these folks have no power and probably no heating in the winter because of it. Gas isn’t such a bad thing to keep at home hey!
- Australian Bush Fires. I don’t know much about this disaster, butI heard on the news that itis the worst experienced in a long time and has taken people by surprise. As the article linked title mentions as well 8 people died and it’s not over. I believe that people are trapped as the fire surrounds them in a massive diameter. Some people have even been forced to jump into the sea to save themselves.
- Finally in the News today .. Mudslides. Which I believe is fairly common in this one area, but I did hear of others this year in other areas, but cannot remember where they were (apart from the ones relating to the Hurricanes and Monsoons.)
And that is my disatser run down for the last year and this new year.
