I didn’t end up with any photos of interest from the coral spawning, however it was a great year for seeing it spawn. The organiser Stephen Broadbelt issued a press release with a group photo of all of us that were involved. I must say thank you to Ocean Frontiers for letting me be a part of it again (it was my third spawning). There are many people who don’t appreciate this sort of thing, and so miss out on special events under the water in the Cayman Islands .. I don’t choose to be a part of that group, I mostly only get in the water for special occasions now !!

The other day I decided to go and see the Caymanian written and directed movie “Haven” which has had some good and lots of bad press. I don’t often pay any attention to press or gossip about movies, it’s normally easy in Cayman as by the time the movie gets here all the hype is over. Haven however premiered here in Cayman, why because it was a Caymanian movie writeen and directed by Frank E Flowers. The Movie is then going to be shown all over the world because it has Orlando Bloom in it.

Now I am no professional critique, however I do have opinions, and quite frankly (pardon the pun) this movie was really good ! I won’t go into it, but it actually had some really great cinematography, it had a great story line (of things which actually probably do happen here) and was taken and put together into a really good package for cinema.
The acting was ok from the local guys (if they were, they sounded more jamaican than caymanian with their patois) but all the people in the main roles did an awesome job. And the flow of the movie was perfect (once I got my head around the story line).

My point .. Go see this movie .. if you want to .. i recommend it !

So It’s quite rare that I actually go scuba diving, but I decided to take some time with buddy Alex to go take some photos and get myself in the swing of things again. It may even lead to doing it more regularly. Here are some photos from the day .. yes they are familiar .. as I wanted to take images to remind me how to do it !
