tpparty

So far our new house is proving very good for entertaining. We had our moving in party, lots of space for the 30 or so people that showed up. We made a complete mess .. but it all cleaned up the next day very easy .. and nothing damaged. The cool thing about our party was most people seemed to dress up. There are some photos on my Flickr Pages .. plenty of links around here for you to follow through on and go see some .. although you have to be a member of Flickr and one of my friends I think to see them.

Also .. Jamie and Jim brought back a poker kit from the states just recently. We had our first poker night as a group at our house. It went really well .. especially as I won the pot of $50 from only going in once with $5. Maybe next time I will get the camera out for a few poker photos.

I just signed up for Ma.gnolia and Technorati. I decided to get a bit more .. web2.0 .. whatever the hell that really means. What I really wanted to do was get my bookmarks that I have sort of organised in Firefox .. organised and shared on Ma.gnolia and then share them with everyone else .. and also share them all through Technorati, as well as using it to get my site a bit more noticed.

So every once in a while I see a video on You Tube or Veoh or Daily Motion or whatever that actually impresses me from the talent of the people to be that creative and actually make the video that well as well, This one hasn’t been uploaded in great quality but it is funny (actually the way Veoh works is you can download a better quality version using their desktop client.

pirates week

So we are getting close to that time of year again .. I LOVE pirates week. It is definately the most fun you can have outside of drunken debauchery with nudey super model (in the Cayman Islands) which to be fair hasn’t happened in a while, but the pirates keep coming back.

Sadly I have no outfit yet for this year .. I may have to think hard and buy some stuff special for it .. thats not too hard .. and I think a Miami Vice style designer stuble is in for this year.

Last year (and I would share photos but the hard drive failure I had prevents me) Martin was a fantastic Johnny Depp look a like .. and being the person he is .. the attitude and body movements seemed to just flow in a camp kinda way. Anyway .. I think I am just gonna be the best I can be .. Stupid thing is I always forget to keep all my stuff from last year … I could have so much stuff by now .. but I keep loosing it or throwing it out, I think I may get guns or a sword this year.

So the other night Martin and I were hanging out at Calico Jacks and it was a pretty amusing good night out … but mostly the things that made our attention were these !

Want some loving honey !

These two people are just some classic examples of the things you see out and about more and more here in Cayman.

It’s all good for a laugh, I mean the thong thing is just funny as long as it isn’t someone you intend to go home with (made even funnier on fat chicks).

There’s actually not that much online about this topic which I find odd but there is a discussion, an article and a funny video

I wanna be adored !

The guy though, well, I guess these wide boys have been around for ages, but all of a sudden they got more colourfull, but more importantly they have been everywhere since the movie Haven came out.

Anyone who was in the movie all of a sudden think they are a hot shot, and anyone who thinks they were in the movie, but probably wasn’t think they are a hot shot too. I don’t really care everyone needs their 15 minutes of fame, I’ve been riding my book cover photo for a while.

But the only thing I didn’t get about the movie haven was … where’s the dorito bags ! and do i want a blue or a red one ?

So the other day I was at Legedz with Martin and Frank the other day and Mark mentioned this Youtube Darth Vader take off .. so after a little Search I found it (I had forgotten until i read it, that it was called Chad Vader) any ways there are a few of them .. check them out.

a9 maps is gone :(

I am a little upset that I go to check out a9 maps only to find they are no more ! Fore those of you who don’t know a9 created a mapping system that had photos of the area you were looking at on the map in a 360 format so you could recognise the place when you got there sort of thing. It was a great idea, which only had a few US metro areas done, mostly in NYC. But the fact that you had a street level image of the area was just brilliant. The images were obtained by driving around in a car with something like 9 cameras on the roof with a gps, so that when the photos were taken the computer mapped them immediately.

So anyway .. i went to go use it today .. and bam it’s gone … has someone taken this over .. or is it gone forever ?

The Kitchen

The new place I have moved into at Mystic Retreat. It is really really nice, and is a shame Martin and I only have it until New Years, but it is going to be sweet until then. Theres not much to say about it apart from it is a big spacious 3 bedroom, well really 2 bed with a den. We have a swimming pool and a gym. The swimming pool is right outside out apt so it seems like ours.
We will be having a moving in party soon. It is going to be a trailer park party. Where everyone has to dress up as white trash, or whatever colour trash they want to be. Now the dress code will make for some great photos, but we are going to have the Trailer Park Boys, aloong with White trash rock music and accompanying food like jerky, corn dogs etc along with a keg to washit down with and maybe some old fashioned moonshine !

Caymans New First Bridge

Just about a week or so ago the new bypass opened up. Apparently it is doing wonders for the traffic. I don’t see how this is, but if it works it works right. The ridiculous thing is .. it’s meant to be a main road, a highway ! It passes through peoples back yards and through hotel grounds, it’s not the prettiest thing to have done to this island, but traffic needed a big sort out. The 25mph speed limit along most of it however has not been adhered to very well, with many people speeding, and has quickly drawn attention to the powers that be.
Oh and inthe Ritz Carltons back yard is the Cayman Islands first ever road bridge (maybe even first bridge) Which I was of course one of the first to drive over after it’s official opening as it was just down the road from my house. (ps may not look like it but the photo is of me driving down the bridge.)
